I love the idea of the words, “One Tribe”.  It gives one a sense of belonging and acceptance that may not have been experienced before.  We all want to feel like we are connected with others who possess congruent qualities that we may possess.  In the social media networking circles, a tribe is a group of people who share similar interests and support each other in those interests by syndicating (promoting) each others’ blog posts and sharing valuable content with the rest of the world. That being said, I want to focus on the message that this song presents…

In this era of war and strife, we must take the time to remember and be mindful of the fact that we are all connected with each other–from your parents to the homeless child who lives halfway across the globe.  As the song “One Tribe” states, we must learn to forget our past transgressions with each other, set aside our differences and treat each other as we wish to be treated; with loving kindness and respect for all living things.

Now I’m not saying that everyone should become vegetarian–I certainly am not…though it gets rather tempting lately–but by living every day with a sense of compassion for each other, knowing that what happens to you happens to me, too (and vice versa!), we can take that necessary step towards a happier more peaceful way of existence.

According to Answers.com, compassion is defined as a:

“Deep awareness of the suffering of another coupled with the wish to relieve it.”

Sounds simple, doesn’t it?  It’s not always easy, though.  Practicing compassion is probably one of the highest forms of love any one person can have for all of humanity.  It even means forgiving your enemies of their wrongdoings against you.  His Holiness the Dalai Lama himself has even experienced times of struggle with practicing compassion toward those who drove him out of Tibet and caused devastation among his people.

The next time you feel negatively towards another person, think about how you would feel if that energy was directed towards you.  Take a moment to figure out WHY you are feeling that way and do what you can to see a more positive side to the target of your anger.  No one is perfect, but we can all at least make an effort to do what we can to be more empathetic towards each other.

I caught wind of this today – a 90 day video challenge.  And the more I thought about it the more excited I became. Is is this easy to do, a video every day? Absolutely not. But is this also easy NOT to do, too? Yep! So I have a choice to make. Don’t do the challenge – or embrace the idea and “go for it!”

As far as I know it is Mia Davies who started this challenge. She also has a Facebook group that is all about the 90 day video challenge. I encourage you to visit her blog and find out what other people are doing.

Here are the basic guidelines and some benefits from embarking on a 3 month challenge like this. The experience you gain from doing this and completing the 90 days is going to be life-changing. I thank Mia for the following:

  • You improve your ability to connect
  • You improve your ability to communicate a message powerfully
  • You improve your ability to express yourself and your ideas
  • You get your message to many people at one time
  • You start to accept and maybe even “like” yourself :)
  • You become more comfortable in your day to day interaction

  • You become more efficient in your speaking and communicating

The concept of optimization is simple. Optimization is committing to getting the maximum result for the minimum time, effort, risk or expense. It is all about the highest and best use of your time, activities, opportunities, efforts, investments of money and investments of human resources.

So how we are going to optimize our daily activities? Let me give you some ideas:

1. Think Outside Of The Box

Well, there is no box however I mean expand your thinking. Look outside of what you are doing to see how many different, better, higher performing, more cost effective, higher yielding, less expensive ways other industries, business owners, your competitors or colleagues have found to reach markets, to attract prospects, to generate leads, to increase traffic to commercial site, to sell them more, resell them, etc. You have got the point. Now integrate their higher performing approaches to your business model!

Suppose you market your services and the opportunity to do business with you online. Find top people in your niche that are doing exactly what you are doing and have the results that you are seeking and begin to explore their strategies and emulate some of them. Have they found a better approach to generate more traffic? Are their conversion ratios better? Are they working less then you and sign up more people than you? How do they advertise?

Reach out and ASK them what it is they are doing. Develop relationships with those people, offer value and ask to interview them. This is super easy to do, great experience for both of you and great value to your followers and customers. You can find some of the interviews I did with other successful people on this blog.

Another great way is to form a mastermind group. Those are people who have similar goals as yours and you meet on a weekly or even daily basis to come up with better ways to do business. I get so many ideas and inspiration from masterminding on a regular basis that it is amazing. This way you help each other out in the business.

Reach out and ASK them what it is they are doing. Develop relationships with those people, offer value and ask to interview them.
